Me too! (what I was informed of in mid-2010 season anyhow) :shoot-me:

They share the same taper,,, I only have to confirm that the taper BEGINS at same depth of stationary posts point of opening,,, that is the main key ingredient here as the seconday has very little room to allow offsetting to make other alignment adjustments

Don't get it Rusty..... 05 F7 & 2010 SP5 are 8.25" and 33mm taper..... Are you sure you the 05 F is the one you should be looking at ? I have a 8.5" primary that I used on my 09 F8LE. Still set up for that sled with the D&D stuff I had in it....but easy to change. I'll have to go thru my notes and see what it came off when I ordered it....

now according to the alpha sports the 600 s/p has an 8 inch clutch and the 500 is the 8.25.

I am going to run a 2003 F7 8 inch clutch on my 500/700 contraption.

If the 500 sno pro and F7 clutches are interchangeable, what will I gain going to the 8.25 inch clutch??

I have both clutches.

Yeah...that's what I came up with after a bit more investigation lastnight...everything was crossing over to the "updated" clutch.

Yeah, but if you look closely on some yrs models, the 8.5" stationary and moveable sheaves are still available

makes me wonder.... what if you still had the original 8.5 primary and 10" secondary..... and had a problem with the primary and actually needed to buy the 8.5...how would you be able to since all the numbers cross over to the smaller one ????

Glad I have one in the box .....
