Somewhere last season someone posted a PN for an AC Key switch for SP500. What little I rode last season, no key didn't seem like a big deal. This season I will probably do a few big group rides, which will involve parking at high traffic stops to eat. I'd feel better, if someone could't just stick a tether on my sled and go.

Your right Norm...lately I have been thinking of a hidden toggle switch for the same reason

I also would like to install a high beam switch on the LH bar...its far to difficult and dangerous to reach behind the speedo to dip your lights for oncoming riders

just a thought

Searched HCS.... Key switch PN. 0609-728

Rich, I was going to try a bar mount rocker switch or I think Ski-Doo RS600 has a push button switch.

I got the p/n from catmansp's post on HCS. In the thread he mentioned that it was done by dealer before delivery. I picked up the AC switch (p/n 0609-728) at dealer yesterday and two of the plastic nuts to secure the barrel of the switch. It has a connector like a Battery Tender. Mechanic at shop thought there might possibly be a lead on the wiring harness to plug it into, but we didn't have time to check this out. I assumed I'd have to splice into leads for tether.

The switch idea was just so i wouldn't have to mess around with the tether all the time and another way to keep it around. I put full coverage on my sleds, but still didn't want to see it gone when I came out of a food joint.

Ideally, our stuff stays our stuff.....but then again, locks only keep honest people out. I've ordered the parts too. One more deterrent doesn't help, right ??
Thanks for the P/N and location pic !

Good job Norm......

I think the key is better than my switch idea...I going to go with that

I still need to find a dimmer switch for the bar...lots of room there to play with too
