I been watching for a 90 Wildcat because it was my first NEW sled. The other day I found a 1990 Wildcat with 1500 miles in a guys shed that he is thinking about selling. I noticed it had rubbers snubbers on the side of the hood and did not think much about it till I looked closer, Fox shocks all the way around,4 metal rear wheels, short front spindles and chromemoly front a-arms. He bought to help out a friend of his that worked for a local dealer that needed money, and was told that it was a mid season "Special" release. I have had 3 of these sleds and have never seen ALL of the same equipment as an EXT Special on a Wildcat? He swears it is all original. I sent the vin# 9033027 and engine# B53 -204029 to Cat service and they responded by saying both numbers are good and correct, also adding that the Model# is S1990ETCLCUS. Has anybody heard of something like this? I looked and sat on it and it looks very original.
"ITS ALL GOOD!!"

B53- IS NOT a 650cc engine (someone has replaced stock 1990 EXT 530 "Special" hood with Wildcat 650 hood)

A 650 engine would be tagged: B65-

There was no mid season Wildcat special. Cat was probably too busy working on EFI which barely got released in 91 and was late in coming in 92. The 92 carb wildcat was in the new chassis which I am sure Cat was concentrating on also.

Picture of my 1992 Wildcat EFI MC included that has a hood scoop like the EXT special had.
Refreshed recently with a new 1991 hood and my new single seat that I re-installed.
